We are 100 days smarter!
Well, we just had our 100th day of school. The kids loved eating their 100 day snacks. There is a PTO meeting scheduled for Tuesday evening at 5:30. PLEASE try to attend! It is difficult to have a voice on matters pertaining to PTO activities if you are not there. Participation is the key to getting back the "old" atmosphere that once existed at our school. We are a good school. Let's all get involved and do what we can. Anybody can sit back, complain and point fingers. But people who want to truly see a change for the better get involved. This is the only special event that I'm aware of for this week. I'll re-post on this website if other information is obtained. Have a great week! Our lunch time, parents, is 10:35-11:15 daily. Please join your child for lunch one day.

Honor Roll Assembly Notes
We had our Honor Roll Assembly this morning. All 18 students in our class were recognized for A or A-B Honor Roll, Perfect Attendance, meeting their A/R goal or being the Most Improved-Overall, for the third six weeks grading period! I am so proud of my class! I realize that some may think I'm bragging but they deserve to be bragged on. They try hard everyday and when they realize someone is "not keeping up with the others", they help instead of criticize. That is what makes my class successful. This is a photo of our class after the assembly. Way to go, kids!

Update & Thanks!
Update: The Talladega City Board of Education meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will be in the R. L. Young Cafeteria. I had posted 4:30 but that was incorrect.
Thanks, thanks, thanks to all of you being so cooperative about the early dismissal yesterday. Sometimes people forget that the teachers do not make those decisions but have to abide by them. Thanks for being so nice!

Welcome to the "blog world"
Hello, Parents:
I realize that we have many forms of communication but I hope this will be a fun tool which receives lots of use. We will keep this updated with photos, information and news from our class. Mrs. Stephens gave us a turtle we named Elvis. Our fish are still alive and well. The
students have requested that Elvis be our "traveling pet".
Please be checking the Blog for information about activities for January 18, 2008, the "100th Day of School!" I can't believe we are over halfway for this school year! This class is the best
class ever; I wish I could loop up to 3rd grade with this group.
Here are some dates for you to remember.
January 10: Report cards go home
January 14: Talladega City Board of Education Meeting
4:30
R. L. Young Cafeteria
January 17: Honors Assembly
K-2: 9:00
3-6: 9:45 (or immediately following the 9:00 Assembly)
January 21: No School in observance of Dr. MLK, Jr.'s Birthday
Let me hear from you! This was just the intro blog. Better blogs are on the way!
Thanks for all you do!
